00SamuraiSteel summary
SteelSamurai (SamuraiSteel by Takara Tomy) is a 31.2 g BX Blade, released on June 1, 2024.
Steel Samurai lacks a defined style that would allow it to offer consistent results and, LeonClaw is superior in practically all aspects. Visually it is attractive and thematically interesting, but in even casual performance it is truly deficient by worsening a Blade that by itself already had many problems. There is another re-mold of LeonClaw which is: The Mandalorian.
01Mythology
It is based on a samurai. Warriors of feudal Japan who followed the bushido code, which emphasized discipline, honor, and loyalty. The katana, their most emblematic weapon, was considered an extension of the warrior's soul.
02Description
It is a re-mold of LeonClaw, with three main differences:
- > It is approximately half a gram lighter.
- > It replaces the mane texture with five connected katanas on the top part.
- > The lower part descends straight toward the center of the Blade.
03Performance
Although it starts from LeonClaw, its changes negatively affect its performance. On one hand, it retains the main disadvantages: light weight and medium-low stamina. On the other hand, it almost completely loses its best quality, which was the wear and destabilization that its textured undulations could achieve. Since the katanas are too elongated and straight, with less texture, it neither wears down nor lifts its rivals.
Additionally, the front walls of each segment are tilted inward, which eliminates the aggressive potential of its walls. This results in a light Blade, easy to knock out and without a clear or remarkable playstyle. It does not improve any aspect of the original mold and eliminates the little it did well.
04Ways to use it
Launch it hard and hope it survives. It has no remarkable qualities.
05Combos
Unite provides versatility without leaning too much toward a specific style, while 7 adds a bit of weight and stability. It allows alternating between attack, evasion, or a slight tilt, though without particularly standing out in any area. It depends on the luck of landing a good hit at a good moment.
Why does it work this way?
Blader's Path explains it step by step: Bey physics, how to build combos and how to test them.
