00WyvernGale summary
Gale Wyvern (WyvernGale by Takara Tomy) is a 32.1 g BX Blade, released in Japan on December 27, 2023.
WyvernGale slipped under the radar like a gentle breeze, but it hides the power of a gust that can change the course of a match. Light, agile, and surprisingly efficient, it proves that real strength doesn’t always come from weight, but from controlling the air. It’s not HoverWyvern, but it’s nowhere near as weak as people make it out to be.
01Mythology
It is based on the wyvern, a European mythological creature similar to a dragon, but with only two legs and large wings that allowed it to glide at high speeds. In medieval bestiaries, it was described as a symbol of aerial power and a bearer of devastating winds.
02Description
It is made up of four thin, downward-sloping segments that represent its wings: two short and two long. It features four cutouts that push its weight toward the edges. From the side, the top shows asymmetric waves, highlighted by a very noticeable bump coming from one of the central triangles. Aside from that, its outline is smooth and clean. It is a light Blade with medium stamina and good versatility.
03Performance
Because it is so thin and polished, opponents have a hard time catching onto it, allowing it to retain energy after impacts and dodge attacks with ease. It can also slide underneath the opponent, destabilizing them with its upper waves.
It does not aim to wear down through friction, but rather to cause instability by bouncing the opponent away, so it works best with semi-aggressive movement and angled launches focused more on pushing. Its bump can create critical hits that increase damage, though it can also become a weak point if it takes a direct hit.
Counter Bits are not ideal for it, as they reduce its constant momentum and do not place it in a defensive position, and its shape is not suited for fully aggressive setups either. Instead, stationary or semi-aggressive Bits let it take advantage of its defensive–destabilizing traits while still moving enough to evade or counter.
It specializes in dealing with aggressive Beys, being hard to hit and having low recoil, aiming to survive until the end. Against mid-stamina Beys, it can use its destabilizing effect to give them trouble. Its spin time is average, so it does not wear down high-stamina Beys enough to beat them. Its light weight limits its destabilizing power against heavier opponents, and its bump can cause dangerous recoil if it gets crushed.
Even though it can trouble aggressive types, its low weight still makes it easy to knock out.
04Ways to use it
+ Counter Defense: On mid-height Ratchets that allow tilt and deflect hits. Its bump can land critical rebound hits, creating a pendulum-like effect with stationary Bits.
+ Upper Attack: At mid-low heights to attack from below, paired with semi-aggressive Bits that give it the freedom to move, evade, or seek contact.
05Base combo

It can dodge well, but the height makes it easy to knock out, especially with a highly mobile Bit like GB. It tends to ride the rail too aggressively and bursts easily. It only shows a small glimpse of its potential, far from its true performance.
06Combos
Maximizes spin time and allows it to tilt, stay upright, or start with movement. Defends well and can destabilize opponents.
Gives it full freedom to dodge, defend, and attack. Lets you fully exploit all of its qualities with great versatility.
Why does it work this way?
Blader's Path explains it step by step: Bey physics, how to build combos and how to test them.
