00WyvernHover summary
Hover Wyvern (WyvernHover by Takara Tomy) is a 35 g UX Blade, released in Japan in May 2025.
HoverWyvern came out of nowhere and raised the attack standard to a whole new level. While Blades like Buster, WhaleWave, or ImpactDrake can be just as intense, HoverWyvern stands out for its consistency. It doesn’t rely on one perfect hit, which makes it far more reliable to use. Without exaggeration, it’s one of the best creations Hasbro has ever made. So powerful and popular that Takara eventually released it as a rare limited Bey. No surprise it was part of Fahreddin’s team, the World Champion.
01Mythology
Original Hasbro Bey with no defined Blader. It’s inspired by the wyvern, a draconic creature tied to speed, aerial attacks, and ferocity, usually shown as a dragon with no front legs.
02Description
HoverWyvern is an oval Blade with an elongated C-shape, almost like a canoe or a curved Pringle. Its ends are wide and finish in upper spikes that form super pronounced hooks, all connected by a deep, continuous curve. It’s packed with details on both the top and the sides, and since it belongs to the UX line, most of its weight is focused on the extremes.
03Performance
Its oval and extremely curved shape creates brutal impacts, to the point that touching it with your hand while spinning actually hurts. It perfectly mixes Barrage Attack thanks to its ridges that drain opponent stamina through repeated hits, Upper Attack that destabilizes by lifting rivals, and Smash Attack from the upper hooks that unleash heavy blows. Because of this, it’s ideal to run it in low, heavily tilted combos to take full advantage of its shape, capable of deleting almost any opponent with a clean hit. It’s insanely versatile, working as aggressive, semi-aggressive, stationary, or counterattack. The key is staying low and tilted. Unlike DranBuster or ImpactDrake, HoverWyvern doesn’t rely on opening hits and can deal consistent damage over time, making it way more reliable. The only style that doesn’t favor it is chaotic tips like Kick or counter-focused ones like Wedge. Since it lacks sharp lower protrusions, it’s not great at falling onto opponents or bouncing around unpredictably. It needs solid ground contact for its hits to really land, so tips with strong grip unlock its true power. Its main drawback is that most of its weight sits on the upper extremes, causing over-tilting. This makes the Ratchet scrape the stadium more easily. Also, at mid or high heights its power drops hard, so it performs best at 60 height or lower, either with low Bits or by exaggerating the initial tilt. It can also struggle against bulky, heavy Beys like TyrannoBeat or Blast Heavy, which can crush its curve and make it bounce, losing tons of energy. Luckily, those rebounds are just as risky for them. One huge plus is that its wide oval shape makes it hard to get trapped in stadium pockets. It often climbs back to the surface, making it tough to score multiple points against it at once, giving it more chances to secure a high-point finish and close the Match in its favor. That makes it super reliable for such an aggressive attack type. Its toughest matchups are stationary tanks, since its thickness makes it harder to get underneath them, especially in more passive combos. Still, with enough momentum, it has strong pushing power to knock them out. Mastering the balance between force, tilt, and precision is key to fully unlock it.
04Ways to use it
On semi-aggressive or aggressive tips, at low heights and heavily tilted, it’s absolute madness. From Tapper to something super aggressive like Under or Rubber Flat, it all comes down to player comfort.
On tips like Point or Zap, at mid-low heights and launched at full power. Over-tilted at the start, it pushes hard and, once it hits the Xtreme Dash, can end the battle with a devastating hit.
On high-support stationary tips like Under Needle or Hexa. Very tilted, it waits for the opponent’s hit and sends them flying. A nightmare for aggressive Beys.
05Base combo

A combo that does the exact opposite of what it needs. Way too tall, high center of gravity, and its best contact points are wasted. It can cause some funny wobble moments, but it’s miles away from its real potential.
06Combos
Pure attack combo. When mastered, it can beat almost anything. Its offensive ceiling is among the best in the system so far.
A variation of the previous combo, less aggressive, with better stamina and long-term attack.
Stationary combo with strong ground support. Launched tilted and at full power, it’s ready to take hits and send them back hard.
A super fun counterattack combo. Allows full-power launches and heavy rail hits thanks to its wide engagement.
