00CerberusFlame summary

Flame Cerberus (CerberusFlame by Takara Tomy) is a 37.6 g CX Blade, released in Japan on July 19, 2025.

CerberusFlame may not be a show dog, but it is a hound that, when trained well, can defend or attack on command, becoming a reliable and loyal partner. It does not truly excel in any single area, but considering it is a CX, it reaches a decent level for competitive play if you are willing to invest in it.

Its light weight and height will always be its main limitations, but with parts like Heavy it can behave like a true guard dog. One that many players want to pet just for including Wheel, which together with Heavy are key pieces to unlocking CX potential.

01Mythology

It is based on Cerberus, the three-headed hound that guards the underworld in Greek mythology, whose role was to prevent souls from escaping and punish those who tried to cross forbidden boundaries. It is a direct homage to Hades Kerbecs from Metal Fight, hiding a hexagon in its stamp as a nod to the Face Bolts of that era.

02Description

This review covers the part Flame

It is divided into three sections representing Cerberus’ three heads, connected by a plastic piece that simulates its chains. Its silhouette is almost completely circular and smoothed out, with only three clearly defined hooks on the upper front of each section. On the underside, the Blade pushes weight toward the edges through cutouts in each segment, aiming to increase centrifugal force and improve stamina, reaching an average BX/UX level, which is decent for a CX. At 30.2 grams, it is one of the lightest Main Blades.

03Performance

This review covers the part Flame

Flame is a simple Blade that’s easy to understand. Its rounded shape and low recoil allow it to absorb aggressive hits super well. This also prevents equalization or energy stealing from left-spin Beyblades, especially when paired with similarly rounded Assist Blades, giving it solid defensive and anti-equalization potential.

Its upper hooks, while not strong enough to fully commit to a pure attack style, can still land critical hits if they connect. In low setups or with strong tilt, you can expose them more often, turning them into a constant threat.

Its biggest weakness is against very round, high-stamina Beyblades that its hooks cannot reliably damage, and it also lacks the stamina to outlast them. Another downside is its relative lightness. Compared to BX/UX it’s not lighter, but at CX heights it becomes easy to push and prone to K.O.s. Because of this, you must avoid launching it fully upright against heavy attackers, or it will get sent flying fast.

For that reason, it needs strong support from the Assist and Ratchet to improve lower weight and stability, preferably at mid or mid-low heights so the whole perimeter can work. The Bit should allow early tilt for attacking or evading, then stand upright later so its smooth shape can maximize defense once the opponent’s strongest hits are gone, reducing ring-out risk. This gives you control over how much you expose its critical points depending on the matchup.

Overall, it benefits from Bits that provide semi-aggressive movement with good upright posture, letting it defend against attackers, counter with its sharp points, pressure stationary types, and avoid left-spin equalization.

04Ways to use it

This review covers the part Flame

Aggressive Defense

At mid-low heights, with wide Bits that offer controlled movement like Level or Elevate. This lets you choose between circling the stadium to evade, going straight for contact, tilting to counter direct hits, and finishing battles upright to maximize defense and improve end-game spin against left spins.

05Base combo

CerberusFlame Wheel 5-80WB

An extremely tall combo that is easy to K.O. and Burst, failing to show its countering potential. Defensively it has moments thanks to Wheel, but every part increases height, making it easy to push and incredibly inconsistent. Overall, it is a weak and unreliable setup.

06Combos

1
EmperorFlame Heavy 0-60L

A balanced and versatile combo. Emperor adds central weight, Heavy lowers height and improves stability, and Level allows you to switch between defense, evasion, and attack. The 0-60 Ratchet boosts overall stability and control.

2
CerberusFlame Heavy 9-60E

A more defensive version of the above. Elevate lets you bait and toy with opponents, while the plastic chip maximizes stamina. It still has access to surprise hits, but prioritizes anti-equalization and defense.

Why does it work this way? Blader's Path explains it step by step: Bey physics, how to build combos and how to test them. See the book
