00Wall Ball summary
Wall Ball is a 2.1 g stamina Bit.
Wall Ball delivers on what it promises: the stamina of Ball with a barrier that keeps it upright and protects from lateral impacts with great effectiveness. But it carries so many risks, and is so situational that only a few Blades will really be able to get the most out of it, and even there, those risks from its own mechanism will exist, making it considerably inconsistent and not very versatile.
01Description
A round tip similar in shape and size to Free Ball, surrounded by a wavy barrier of four sections. It is slightly taller than average and uses a 16-tooth gear.
02General properties
It works like this: when it tilts, the barrier touches the ground and straightens up, keeping the Bey as upright as possible; furthermore, when receiving lateral impacts, it scrapes the floor to slow down the movement and reduce being launched out of the stadium.
But it comes at a cost: each scrape consumes energy, so a continuous sequence of hits can drain its stamina, even against aggressive rivals. Add to this that impacts from below lift it and completely bypass the barrier; this worsens considering it is taller than average and exposes the lower part of the Blade, making it easier to send it flying. Even if it manages to stay inside the stadium, it can land on the barrier, causing spin loss or bounces. Not forgetting that its thin tube has a high risk of bursting, especially if the barrier gets hooked on the rail.
It has the possibility of an Xtreme Dash that causes self-KOs or energy drain with its gear, although it is not frequent because the barrier usually prevents contact with the rail. By staying upright, it loses the option to tilt and deflect attacks, which can leave it vulnerable in the initial clashes. Although, being round, a strong launch allows it to orbit around the center and evade initial impacts. Compared to Hexa, Low Orb, and Ball, it is riskier and inconsistent because of how easily it loses energy, its height, and its limited movement.
On wide Blades or those that are super hard to hit from below, many of these problems are reduced and it becomes an interesting defensive option. It stands out on Beys that need to be perfectly upright to work, like Mummy Curse. Compared to Wall Wedge, it evades at the start and, with its greater contact surface, it is harder to push. However, it tilts easily and constantly hits the barrier, so it wears out faster. Wall Ball is safer at the start of the battle, while Wall Wedge can turn out better in the long run if it stays inside the stadium.
Although it mitigates the over-tilting problem, it does so at a high cost that makes it mega situational and less versatile than the original Ball.
