00CrimsonGaruda summary
Scarlet Garuda (CrimsonGaruda by Takara Tomy) is a 35.1 g BX Blade, released in Japan on November 2, 2024.
Crimson Garuda is a mediocre Blade that tries to cover multiple styles without excelling at any of them. It’s surprisingly hard to get value out of it, even in casual matches.
As a tribute to Dranzer, its performance falls far short of that legacy. Even in for-fun battles, it offers very few memorable moments.
The most valuable part of the product ends up being Trans Point, which only it has so far. On its own, Crimson Garuda leaves a lot to be desired and stands out as one of the most disappointing and hardest-to-justify Blades in the system, especially considering it released more than a year after the generation began.
01Mythology
Based on Garuda, the legendary bird from Hindu mythology, whose mission is to aid Vishnu in securing the victory of good over evil. Its immense size is said to be capable of completely blocking out the sun.
02Description
Crimson Garuda is a tribute to Kai’s Dranzer from the original series. Its shape is made up of two large segments that represent the stylized bird in profile, forming an oval structure with mid-high weight.
From the side, you can see an elongated upper slope. On the underside, while it appears to have irregularities, these slope inward and are smoothed out, meaning they don’t act as aggressive contact points. This smoothness extends across almost its entire thin perimeter.
Near the center, the Blade has cutouts in the wings that reduce the amount of metal on the lower side, concentrating metal weight toward the top and the outer edges. This raises its center of gravity.
03Performance
The elevated center of gravity makes Crimson Garuda very easy to lift, push, and knock out of the stadium. It also has a strong tendency to move around a lot due to its thin profile slicing through the air.
Although oval shapes are usually linked to aggression, in this case it’s too polished and thin. This greatly reduces its pushing power, even with a decent weight. Its upper slope also isn’t steep enough to lift opponents consistently, so pure aggressive combos don’t suit it.
It doesn’t stand out in stamina either. Its spin time is about average and gets easily beaten by true stamina Beys.
Overall, it’s a pretty contradictory Blade:
- > Its oval shape suggests aggression, but its smoothness cancels it out.
- > That smoothness could help defense, but the oval shape works against it.
- > It tries to boost stamina by moving weight to the edges, but places it up top, making it unstable and cutting spin time.
Its best performance comes at mid heights like 60, where it can be launched tilted to use the upper slope to deflect attacks from below, destabilize the opponent, and, with some luck, land a surprise counter by taking advantage of a bit of its oval shape. It works as a vague middle ground between defense and aggression, but it needs very powerful launches to make up for its stamina.
Surprisingly, its results are highly inconsistent, to the point that in our tests it was even harder to use effectively than BlackShell.
04Ways to use it
On tips like Wedge, launch it hard and tilted to destabilize and fish for the occasional rebound.
In low, stationary combos it can reflect attacks with its slope, though it’s very vulnerable to being pushed around or scraping the floor.
On semi-aggressive tips it can try to evade and survive through stamina. If you help lower its center of gravity to compensate for its instability, it performs much better.
05Base combo

A poorly functioning combo. Trans Point creates rebounds that don’t benefit this Blade, which lacks consistency in its impacts. On top of that, pairing it with Ratchet 4 increases burst risk and prevents it from taking a reliable defensive stance.
06Combos
Reduces instability, lowers the center of gravity, and lets it bullfight opponents with decent stamina.
Allows strong, tilted launches, blending defense, rebounds, and evasion to hunt for surprise attacks.
A shield-defense approach that aims to lift aggressive Beys. It needs powerful launches to avoid falling short on stamina.
Why does it work this way?
Blader's Path explains it step by step: Bey physics, how to build combos and how to test them.
