00Draciel S summary

Draciel S is a 28.1 g Bakuten Shoot remake Blade, released in Japan on December 28, 2024.

Draciel S succeeds in being faithful to its original version, even inheriting its characteristic recoil—ironic for a defensive Blade—but also a key part of its identity. It is one of the most emblematic shapes in the franchise and retains 그 classic charm. As a competitive piece it doesn't work, but as an object for collection and nostalgia, it is invaluable. It might not win tournaments, but in Max's style, it invites you to enjoy the battle and accept its recoil as part of its personality.

01Mythology

It is based on Genbu, the Black Tortoise of the North in Chinese and Japanese mythology. It represents winter and the water element, and is usually shown as a tortoise with a snake tail.

02Description

It is one of the lightest Blades of the generation, although the second heaviest among the Bakuten remakes. It seeks to faithfully replicate the original Draciel S, merging its classic parts into a single structure. Its silhouette is composed of three well-defined layers:

  • > A plastic top divided into eight segments like the old Attack Ring.
  • > A central metal layer that simulates the Weight Disk and covers the edges of the four widest plastic sections.
  • > A smoothed plastic bottom base that recalls the base of Bakuten Beys.

The metal outline forms almost a hexagon, while the top plastic presents a concave shape that tries to represent the tortoise shell.

03Performance

Among the Bakuten remakes, it is the most stable and achieves the best spin time. However, its concave shape makes it extremely easy to smash, and the irregularities of the shell "heads" generate a mega amount of recoil. Although the metal slightly softens the impact compared to its original version, it still loses too much energy in every clash.

It can reflect impacts with some effectiveness, but at the cost of a lot of energy; even when it is not knocked out of the stadium, its spin decreases rapidly. It also lacks any relevant offensive potential since the plastic edge remains covered. This leaves it with an incomplete defense, where recoil and its low weight prevent it from standing out.

In comparison, BlackShell is a superior alternative: it maintains a similar shape but in solid metal and with higher weight, which improves its overall performance. Paradoxically, being the most balanced in stability among the remakes, it ends up being the least competitive due to the inherent recoil of its original design.

04Ways to use it

Shield Defense

In low combos with Bits that have good traction, it can reflect impacts and aim to survive by spin time, although its recoil will still be a limiting factor.

05Base combo

Draciel S 7-60D

A decent defensive combo that allows it to exploit its main quality. The greatest value is including the 7-60 Ratchet, a very useful and accessible part in this version. Dot provides defense, but its traction increases energy depletion.

06Combos

Draciel S 7-80UN

Raising it helps compensate for the low height of the Bit and slightly reduces the risk of being smashed. It defends in an acceptable way, although the recoil will continue to compromise its stamina.

Why does it work this way? Blader's Path explains it step by step: Bey physics, how to build combos and how to test them. See the book
