00DranDagger summary
DaggerDran (DranDagger by Takara Tomy) is a 34.4 g BX Blade, released in Japan on November 2, 2023.
Among the Dran lineup, this one is the most underrated for not being explosive, but like a dagger, it becomes deadlier the closer it gets to the opponent. It does not aim to overwhelm, but to be efficient—and if you master its rhythm, it will slowly cut through the enemy’s stamina until nothing is left spinning.
01Mythology
It is based on a dragon and a dagger. In many legends, it was said that a dragon’s skin was so tough that even swords could not pierce it, except at very specific weak points on its body. Daggers, on the other hand, are one of the oldest weapons created by humanity, valued for their light weight and precision in close combat.
02Description
It is made up of six straight, slightly angled divisions that represent daggers. The three shorter ones have a steeper angle, while the others are wider and feature a subtle front hook. Together, they form a long slope with small irregularities on the top. Despite its small size, it has mid weight and solid stamina.
03Performance
Its upper irregularities create strong wear-down and gradually destabilize the opponent, especially when hitting from below. The segmented sides, being straight-edged, also contribute to stamina drain during repeated attacks.
Thanks to its compact size, it accelerates easily and can take advantage of the opponent’s momentum to counterattack after being knocked back. While raw push is not its strong point, these surprise hits can amplify the damage. That said, a fully aggressive combo does not suit it, as its size and shape do not favor effective pushing power.
It works best with semi-aggressive movement focused on wear-down at low heights, or on counter Bits that allow powerful launches with controlled rebounds.
It does not aim for quick wins—its design is built around long exchanges that slowly drain the opponent’s energy. Because of that, it does not need high traction, but rather good stamina and smooth movement to extend its time in battle.
It is small and has low inertia, so it needs a strong launch to fully unlock its potential. That same lightness also makes it easy to stop or push around, which makes fighting heavier Beys more difficult.
04Ways to use it
On low-traction counter Bits that give it good mobility and stamina to accelerate and strike back.
With subtle-movement Bits like Ball, it gains strong stamina and an initial spin that boosts its wear-down potential.
05Base combo

Pure attack is not its strength, but Rush gives it enough stamina and control to take advantage of its wear-down ability. Among Beys in its weight class, it can deliver decent push with a precise launch. Rush was the main reason for its popularity, as it was the only way to obtain it for a long time.
06Combos
A low combo that maximizes its wear-down and destabilization traits with solid stamina. Launch it hard to use its initial momentum against high-stamina Beys; with a slight tilt, it can also act defensively against aggressive opponents.
Gains stability with the 7 Ratchet, strengthening its counterattacks. Point’s bursts of speed add an unpredictable and exciting twist to its battles.
