00Dranzer S summary
Dranzer S is a 27.5 g Bakuten Shoot remake Blade, released in Japan on July 15, 2023.
Dranzer S was the first remake released alongside the generation's debut, and it is worth applauding that it can still put up a fight in casual matches with decent results for one of its caliber. Fans of Kai Hiwatari can feel satisfied, his Dranzer can still give intense battles in true street style, but above all, awaken the nostalgia of that first time they launched it into the stadium.
01Mythology
It is based on Suzaku, the legendary Vermillion Bird of the South in Chinese and Japanese mythology. It represents fire and summer, and is one of the Four Heavenly Guardians protecting the cardinal points.
02Description
It is one of the lightest Blades of the generation and seeks to replicate the original Dranzer S as faithfully as possible by merging its classic parts into a single structure. Its silhouette is clearly divided into three layers:
- > An oval plastic top that recalls the old Attack Ring.
- > A central metal layer that simulates the Weight Disk and covers the edges of the top plastic.
- > A thin layer of smoothed plastic on the bottom part that evokes the base of Bakuten Beys.
03Performance
Its weight distribution is incredibly unstable and difficult to balance, causing constant bounces and low stamina. Therefore, thinking about defense or stationary combos makes no sense. Its best option is to power up its chaotic and aggressive nature in search of a critical impact.
This can be achieved because it has clearly marked points: the protruding plastic heads, the sharp edge of the metal disk, and the slope behind each head. If it manages to connect with these zones, it can generate surprisingly strong hits for its weight. The problem is consistency, since the rest of its circumference is smooth, which reduces the probability of landing notable hits and makes you depend super much on luck.
04Ways to use it
On flat or chaotic Bits, launched with mega power looking for an early critical hit. If executed well it can surprise, although in the current environment it struggles more to stand out than in its first year, when it was one of the most competitive remakes.
05Base combo

High height that allows hitting directly with the edge of the metal disk; if it tilts, it can also take advantage of the top heads and encourage erratic movement. Meanwhile, Taper helps maintain some control within the chaos. For casual play it is functional, although it could work much better with lower height and a more aggressive Bit.
06Combos
The most reliable combo for consistent attack, taking advantage of the control and power of Rush.
Erratic Attack that increases the chaos; also 1 favors erratic movement and possible bounces from the gaps.
Why does it work this way?
Blader's Path explains it step by step: Bey physics, how to build combos and how to test them.
