00FoxBrush summary

Brush Fox (FoxBrush by Takara Tomy) is a 36.6 g CX Blade, released in Japan on May 17, 2025.

FoxBrush is, ironically, an honest Blade when it comes to its theme. It does not promise consistency, but confusion and deception through its attacks.

It has real hidden power, but it is limited by instability and the structural constraints of the CX line. It is probably one of the most inconsistent Blades of its type, but also one of the most faithful to its concept: a mischievous Kitsune that toys with both the opponent and its own user.

For those who enjoy randomness and the feeling that anything can happen, FoxBrush is a nine-tailed roulette that will be incredibly fun.

01Mythology

FoxBrush is based on the Kitsune, the nine-tailed fox from Japanese folklore. These creatures are known for their intelligence, long lifespan, and supernatural abilities, especially their power to transform into beautiful women to trick humans.

02Description

This review covers the part Brush

FoxBrush is made up of nine divisions that represent its tails. When viewed from above, they progressively extend from a super short one to a mega long one. However, in terms of width, shape, and lateral angle, there is no clear progression pattern, as each tail varies completely from the others.

The weight distribution is just as irregular: the first four tails have no gaps, while the remaining ones do, and all of them are different sizes. This creates a slight natural instability, with noticeable wobble on small tips and resistance below average, though without reaching the extremes of Blades like DranBuster or MeteorDragoon.

03Performance

This review covers the part Brush

Brush is a Blade designed to be deceptive and unpredictable.

In theory, its first eight tails, being so irregular, aim to generate Barrage attack to wear down the opponent, finishing them off with the impact of the ninth tail, which is the widest. Interestingly, the most dangerous one is actually the eighth tail, since it sticks out slightly more than the rest and has a sharply defined lower edge, capable of landing critical hits if it connects. The ninth tail, on the other hand, has a medium hook that can push decently, but it is less lethal than it looks.

It can definitely wear the opponent down, and it can definitely finish with a strong hit. The issue is the massive inconsistency of its attacks, since it relies on only two points to land a finisher, and they are at different heights. Combined with its tendency to wobble, which makes landing a direct hit harder, pulling off that lethal blow becomes super difficult. And even though the wear on the opponent is solid, it lacks the stamina to survive for long.

Because of this, FoxBrush does not work when you try to focus on an aggressive or stationary style, not even a semi-aggressive one. It works best chaotically, basically unleashing the beast. Its real potential shows up when you take advantage of erratic movement, rebounds, sudden trajectory changes, and unpredictable clashes that throw the opponent off. The goal is not to win by precision, but by confusion: making the opponent not know what hit them, literally.

Due to this, it performs better at mid or mid-low heights, where its entire perimeter can get involved, and with tips that promote unpredictable movement paths.

04Ways to use it

This review covers the part Brush

Erratic Attack

On semi-aggressive tips with unpredictable patterns like Kick. This allows you to take advantage of wall and rail rebounds to unleash unexpected hits from different angles. Other less chaotic but still functional options are Taper and Unite, depending on how much control you want.

Counter Defense

On small, stationary tips. A strong launch activates its natural imbalance, generating irregular movement in the center that can deflect aggressive attacks and, with some luck, trigger one of its critical hits when countering or rebounding.

05Base combo

FoxBrush Jaggy 9-70GR

In theory, it tries to boost pushing power with Gear Rush and wear with Jaggy. In practice, Jaggy becomes the main contact point, creating huge recoil that accelerates stamina loss even more. Added to the Blade’s instability and GR*’s low endurance, the combo rarely lands meaningful hits. Without a doubt, this is a poorly performing combo.

06Combos

1
FoxBrush Heavy 9-60W

A counter-defense combo. Heavy stabilizes things just enough to take advantage of early erratic movement and force impacts against stationary Blade*s, or to counter aggressive ones through rebounds. The plastic chip helps keep its stamina as high as possible.

2
EmperorBrush Heavy 9-60K

A more controlled erratic attack combo. Emperor adds central weight and reduces some recoil, allowing chaos to happen without the Blade* completely losing control. The launch boost can be an extra to add even more chaos to its movement.

Why does it work this way? Blader's Path explains it step by step: Bey physics, how to build combos and how to test them. See the book
