00Driger S summary
Driger S is a 28.5 g Bakuten Shoot remake Blade, released in Japan on April 27, 2024.
Driger S is a serene Blade and, among the Bakuten remakes, the most reliable in general terms. Interestingly, in every generation it has managed to stay relevant among those of its caliber, and here is no exception. It is not a fearsome tiger, but it is consistent within its range. A small feline whose claws are not lethal but can certainly leave a scar on the rival, but above all, it is capable of awakening the nostalgia to shout "Tiger Claw Attack!!".
01Mythology
It is used by Ray Kon. It is based on Byakko, the White Tiger of the West in Chinese and Japanese mythology. It represents autumn and the metal element, symbolizing the strength, discipline, and protection of the Heavenly Guardians.
02Description
It is one of the lightest Blades of the generation, although it is the heaviest among the Bakuten remakes. It seeks to faithfully replicate the original Driger S, merging its classic parts into a single structure. Its silhouette is divided into three well-defined layers:
- > An oval plastic top that recalls the old Attack Ring.
- > A central metal layer that simulates the Weight Disk and covers the plastic edges.
- > A thin, smoothed plastic base in allusion to the base of Bakuten Beys.
Compared to Dranzer, it is smaller and more rounded. On the top part, it features a very prominent metal slope, two straight edges in the middle zone, and the rest of its perimeter is smoothed.
03Performance
Its weight distribution makes it unstable, though slightly less so than Dranzer and Dragoon, which allows it to obtain superior stamina compared to them. Thanks to its side smoothness and the slope of its edges, it can perform decently in defense: when tilted, it acts as a Shield Defense by deflecting impacts, and laterally it cushions hits well due to its rounded shape.
Although it is not its specialty, it possesses a slight offensive potential. This is due to the central straight edges that can generate decent pushes, and the upper slope allows for a moderate Upper Attack that can offer occasional Counterattacks if it carries momentum. It is far from competing with current defensive standards, but considering its lightness and its remake status, it is worth applauding that it has a viable style within its category.
04Ways to use it
Tilt it to deflect impacts or take advantage of its reduced size to dodge around the stadium. The idea is to endure long enough to seek a victory by stamina, although its instability means that even if it is not knocked out, it has trouble due to its medium-low stamina.
05Base combo

The high height exposes its smooth zone to maximize defense and it can withstand impacts acceptably thanks to the traction of Point, which tends to take the rail. Even so, it is too tall to fully trust its defense and it limits its aggressive potential. It is not negligible, but definitely improvable.
06Combos
Ball gives it versatility: it can move, tilt, and even attempt a small initial attack. The good traction improves its stability and prolongs its stamina as much as possible.
Why does it work this way?
