Dragoon S

It is based on Seiryū, the Azure Dragon of the East in Chinese and Japanese mythology. It represents spring and the wind element, being one of the Four Heavenly Guardians protecting the cardinal points.

A left-spin Blade and the lightest in the entire generation. It seeks to replicate the original Dragoon Storm design, merging its classic parts into a single structure. Thus, its overall silhouette resembles an octagon divided into 3 layers:

• > Four long, flat metal sides in the middle section that evoke the old Weight Disk.

• > Four short, slanted sides on the top part that recall the Attack Ring. (The center is all plastic, but the edges continue from the lower metal).

• > A thin layer of smoothed plastic at the bottom that simulates the base of Bakuten Beys.

Its mega low weight limits it way too much. If it were right-spin, it would be practically unviable, but being left-spin, it can still survive. On flat Bits, it can accelerate with super intensity and, if it manages to wedge its small slopes against an irregular rival, generate surprising Upper Attack. However, those contact points are small and hard to hit with consistency.

In stamina, it is even worse because, like most Remakes, they were made incredibly unbalanced. So, against other left-spins, it is at a great disadvantage, as it is very easy to push and its impact force is almost zero, especially knowing other Dragoon versions are 14 grams heavier.

Fortunately, against right-spin Beys—which are the majority—its outlook improves. It can take advantage of spin equalization thanks to the protrusions on the Attack Ring where it can be propelled. Being so light, a soft contact is enough to gain momentum and keep spinning. It is not a defensive Blade per se, but against opposite spin, it is its best strategy: tilt at the start to reduce the risk of KOs and mitigate impacts, or bounce hard off the walls to return to the stadium, keeping it inside to win by out-spinning the opponent.
