00CrocoCrunch summary
Bite Croc (CrocoCrunch by Takara Tomy) is a 34 g BX Blade, released in August 2024.
CrocCrunch and SharkEdge were imposing in their time and set the standard for offensive power in their initial stage. Over time, heavier and more consistent options have emerged that have partially displaced them, but their impact was fundamental to defining the aggressiveness of the generation.
In our current tests, CrocCrunch showed super greater consistency and reliability than SharkEdge, without that meaning Shark is absolutely inferior. In attack Beys, nothing is written, as the Blader's skill remains the decisive factor.
01Mythology
It is based on a crocodile, an ancestral predator that has survived millions of years with almost no evolutionary changes. Its bite is one of the most powerful in the animal kingdom, greater than that of a shark, but its muscles to open it are so weak that they can keep its jaw closed with tape.
02Description
It is a re-mold of SharkEdge, so it shares the same structural base with several subtle but relevant changes:
- > The front edge is higher and presents a more open angle.
- > The design incorporates the crocodile's head and the texture of its skin; this head creates an additional hook on the side.
- > The periphery has a more closed angle, while in SharkEdge it resembles a vertical wall more closely.
- > Part of its division is straighter and the end of the “tail” is lower than in SharkEdge, reducing the overall inclination.
- > It is approximately half a gram lighter.
Visually it is perceived differently, but structurally it maintains the essence of the original mold.
03Performance
It retains the base qualities of the mold: low stamina, high recoil, and mega offensive power.
The main difference is in the consistency. CrocCrunch possesses more effective contact points, making it easier to connect impacts with greater regularity. Its higher front widens the contact range; the protruding head adds an extra side hit; and its more open slope, although less pronounced than that of SharkEdge, allows it to reach rivals from below more easily, acting as a ramp for Upper Attacks. However, against super heavy rivals, it can be more susceptible to being crushed.
SharkEdge, when it manages to impact with its direct edge or connect from below, can generate more violent blows, but it also suffers greater recoil. With the evolution of the competitive environment—lower Ratchets, more stable combos, and higher weights—the consistency of Shark has decreased, as its recoil takes its toll. In this context, CrocCrunch achieves a better balance between power and control, reducing the recoil just enough without sacrificing too much damage, which makes it more reliable in current results.
Both require a good balance between control and launch speed to perform at their best. Compared to current attack Beys like HoverWyvern or SharkScale, they are much riskier options.
04Ways to use it
In medium-low combos where it can impact head-on with less tilted launches. If it tilts slightly, it can boost its Upper Attack capacity. On aggressive Bits it can connect incredibly remarkable hits.
05Combos
A classic attack combo whose performance depends largely on the precision and power of the launch. Its greatest opportunity is in the first exchanges, when it retains maximum speed.
Why does it work this way?
Blader's Path explains it step by step: Bey physics, how to build combos and how to test them.
