00TriceraSpiky summary
Ridge Triceratops (TriceraSpiky by Takara Tomy) is a 29.7 g BX Blade, released on February 19, 2026.
Ridge Triceratops is a Blade that surprises within its category. Although light and a variant of an unpopular mold, it manages to differentiate itself with a more aggressive and dynamic approach.
It is not a reliable option for competitive play, but it clearly demonstrates that performance does not depend solely on weight, but on how it is distributed and the shape of the Blade. Within its category, it achieves decent results, being a good predecessor, that nobody asked for, to TriceraPress.
01Mythology
It is based on the Triceratops, a herbivorous dinosaur from the Cretaceous period known for its three horns and its large bony frill. It is believed that these horns not only served for defense, but also for combat in territorial and mating disputes.
02Description
It is a re-mold of SphinxCowl, maintaining a very similar base but with key changes:
- > From the side it is much thinner, practically eliminating all its lower protrusions.
- > Most of its irregularities have been smoothed out.
- > Its three central horns extend further outward, creating 3 much more marked contact points.
- > It is approximately 3 grams lighter.
- > Its design now represents the texture of a dinosaur's skin.
03Performance
In general, its performance is the same as SphinxCowl; however, despite its lower weight, and having smoothed most of its periphery, the three contact points hit super harder than all of SphinxCowl's. And, being thinner, it can reach the lower part of its rivals more easily, which mega elevates its offensive potential.
In essence, it becomes a faster and more aggressive version of SphinxCowl, benefiting from greater acceleration thanks to its lightness. However, it requires incredibly powerful launches to compensate for its high recoil due to its super low weight.
In comparison, SphinxCowl stands out slightly in consecutive attacks due to its greater amount of irregularities, which make it easier to hook and wear down the rival. On the other hand, Ridge Triceratops stands out more in erratic and Counterattack styles, where its speed and impact points take the rival by surprise.
04Ways to use it
On Bits like Point, it can wait for the impact to be propelled, take the rail, and return with mega speed to finish the job.
At medium heights (60) with flat Bits, it seeks direct impacts taking advantage of its entire periphery. Here Sphinx manages to be more consistent.
Its lightness allows it to bounce chaotically around the stadium, where its horns can connect super surprising and blunt hits. This being its best playstyle.
05Combos
The stability of 7 provides control and some extra weight, while Kick powers up its erratic movement for unpredictable impacts.
It maintains stability while GP favors more upright impacts and accelerations with the rail at full power.
A classic attack that depends on finding the balance between power and precision. It is not its strongest style, but it can work.
Why does it work this way?
Blader's Path explains it step by step: Bey physics, how to build combos and how to test them.
