00ShinobiShadow summary
Shadow Shinobi (ShinobiShadow by Takara Tomy) is a 28.4 g UX Blade, released in Japan on May 18, 2024.
ShinobiShadow has style, but its power feels closer to a playful genin than a seasoned jonin. Still, not everything in Beyblade is about competition, so its fun, fast, and surprising gameplay is a joy to experience, because watching it bounce around the stadium is a true ninja show.
01Mythology
It is inspired by a ninja. In Japanese culture, ninjas were masters of stealth and evasion, capable of moving unseen and striking by surprise. It is said they used darkness and their surroundings to their advantage, turning lightness into their greatest weapon.
02Description
It is divided into three long, smoothed segments with a downward slope that creates pronounced waves on the upper side, possibly representing the headband ninjas used to wear. Overall, it is completely smoothed out. It is small, has good stamina, and is extremely light: one of the lightest Blades in the entire game.
03Performance
Its lightness may seem like a drawback, but it is intentional. It is designed to move like a true ninja: hard to catch, unpredictable, and with rebounds that can catch the opponent off guard. Its weight is concentrated on the upper side, raising its center of gravity and making it easier to lift and break the rhythm of aggressive opponents, who will send it flying with just a light tap. The funny part is that the launch is often so strong that it tends to bounce off the pockets and return to the stadium. On semi-aggressive Bits, it can evade attacks with great fluidity, while on stationary Bits it uses its light weight to be pushed far away and dodge follow-up hits. Sometimes it bounces so hard it feels like a ball hitting a wall and coming back at your face: it may not hurt much, but it will definitely startle you. With Ratchet 1, it gains even more mobility and a better chance of returning from stadium pockets. Because of this, rather than adding weight or power, it is better to embrace its lightness and use Bits that favor rebounds and evasion. Its upper curves generate a lot of recoil since it can be crushed easily, so mid heights like 60/70 suit it better to avoid direct contact. Against stationary opponents it has no chance: it lacks the power and inertia to deal damage. Its style is meant to win point by point against aggressive Beys, but one clean hit usually costs it many points through defeats, making full matches hard to win. After all, it is still about 10 grams below the current competitive standard, so it is always at risk of being knocked out, no matter how lucky it gets.
04Ways to use it
Both on semi-aggressive Bits, where it can move fast, and on stationary Bits that let it take advantage of pushes and create distance, waiting to be launched to rebound with intensity.
05Base combo

Way too tall and very easy to knock out. Metal Needle makes it even more slippery, although it can have lucky moments when rebounding with 1-80. Still, its recoil is massive if the opponent hits the Ratchet directly.
06Combos
Evades and rebounds easily; with some luck, it can get away with it and deliver really fun battles.
Wedge makes it fly and rebound hard, pushing its chaotic and evasive style even further.
Why does it work this way?
Blader's Path explains it step by step: Bey physics, how to build combos and how to test them.
