00PhoenixFeather summary

Feather Phoenix (PhoenixFeather by Takara Tomy) is a 32.9 g BX Blade, released in Japan on December 15, 2023.

DranSword and PhoenixWing are far more reliable and versatile thanks to their greater weight. However, PhoenixFeather demonstrates how small physical changes can completely transform a Beyblade’s behavior. Although it shares the same base as the other two, its essence is different—it is a bird that flies freely at high speed. Its wings allow it to move with elegance, but among the giants of competitive play… one mistake can easily reduce it to ashes.

01Mythology

It is inspired by the phoenix, a mythological bird that, according to legend, is reborn from its own ashes after dying engulfed in flames. In Greek and Egyptian texts, it symbolized renewal and eternal energy, capable of rising stronger every time it fell.

02Description

It is made up of three wide, straight segments that represent the phoenix’s wings, with raised details that simulate extended feathers. Each wing features a large cutout to distribute weight toward the outer edges, making it lighter overall. Its shape is almost identical to DranSword, but three grams lighter, which specializes it for speed. It is a lightweight Blade with excellent stamina.

03Performance

Unlike DranSword, PhoenixFeather does not stand out for heavy-hitting blows, but rather for the speed it can reach. Its light weight allows it to accelerate very quickly, catching opponents off guard before they can react. If it manages to intercept them near the edges, it can knock them out of the stadium with a simple high-speed push.

Its mobility also makes it an excellent evasive defender, capable of dodging attacks and surviving over time thanks to its solid stamina, making it very effective against aggressive Beys.

The feathered ridges give it friction-based wear potential, allowing it to act as a light burst-style attacker. However, its low weight makes it difficult to maintain continuous contact with the opponent, making it easy to push around.

An interesting strategy is to use it with stationary Bits and a maximum-power launch, waiting for the opponent’s impact to bounce back and counterattack with greater force by using the incoming momentum.

Overall, it performs best in low-height combos, aiming to improve stability and traction to prevent slipping or being knocked out of the stadium too easily.

Its mid-to-light weight makes it easy to push, and its natural acceleration can cause loss of control on some Bits when it reaches excessive speed. While its stamina is good, it is still below that of Beys specialized in endurance, so adding a bit more momentum helps enhance its wear potential.

04Ways to use it

Evasive Defense + Smash Attack

With aggressive Bits that have good stamina, such as Rush, it can move at high speed around the stadium to evade attacks, with the potential to catch the opponent at a vulnerable point and knock them out with a sudden push.

CounterAttack

With low, stable Ratchets and stationary Bits, it can take advantage of its maximum speed to absorb impacts and return them using the opponent’s own momentum.

05Base combo

PhoenixFeather 3-60F

The same combo as DranSword, so everything depends on the Blader’s control. It can unleash its speed and aggression, but Flat* makes it difficult to manage. It works, though improving control and stamina is recommended.

06Combos

1
PhoenixFeather 7-60LR

Lower and more stable, improves ground grip and movement control, allowing it to maintain its high speed for evasion or attacks.

2
PhoenixFeather 6-60B

Adds weight with the 6 Ratchet and uses a Bit with good traction and stamina, ideal for bouncing and unleashing powerful counterattacks.

Why does it work this way? Blader's Path explains it step by step: Bey physics, how to build combos and how to test them. See the book
