00OrochiCluster summary

Coil Orochi (OrochiCluster by Takara Tomy) is a 36.4 g UX Blade, released in Japan on January 21, 2026.

Orochi Cluster finds a fun sweet spot between intensity and recoil, as it is a tough rival to face but risky to use. Even with a lot of skill, there is a limit to how much you can compensate for that recoil, especially considering the weight increase in the most recent releases which could make it worse every time.

What is guaranteed are crazy battles; the impacts are spectacular and it always gives the feeling that something incredible can happen at any moment! Maybe it doesn't have the knives the kid drew for it when winning the CoroCoro contest, but they managed to perfectly capture that feeling of danger and excitement.

Of course, considering its rarity and high price, it is hard to recommend it solely for performance. It is a much more logical purchase for collectors, for those who especially enjoy its design... or for someone named Orochimaru!

01Mythology

It is based on Yamata no Orochi, whose name literally means "eight-headed serpent". This monstrous creature terrorized the Izumo province until it was defeated by Susanoo, god of the sea and storms. According to legend, the legendary Kusanagi sword was found inside its body.

02Description

The sword is represented in the central hooks of the Blade, the eight heads can be seen in the Chip design, and its eight tails form the main structure of the Blade, even with textures that resemble the creature's skin.

Its divisions are widely separated and exposed, with pronounced lower slopes, multiple top irregularities, and an edge on the heads at its ends, giving it an oval shape. It is small and super compact.

03Performance

So many aggressive points spread across its periphery allow it to attack from practically any angle; it can lift, smash, and dig its edges in. Plus, its impact power is powered up by being oval, so it hits incredibly hard!

The problem is that it suffers a savage recoil. Although its weight is decent, its small diameter limits the centrifugal force it can generate, so it loses speed quickly and loses a lot of energy from its own hits.

Another major drawback is that it leaves the Ratchet super exposed, which considerably increases the risk of bursting, and it is not recommended to use with Ratchets featuring marked protrusions. Therefore, it usually benefits from heavy weight Ratchets or mega stable ones that mitigate the recoil a bit.

To decrease the damage it suffers, it needs to spin as fast as it can; the faster it spins than the rival, the less recoil it will suffer, and conversely, it gets worse the slower it spins. Or, carrying a lot of movement speed, although this is usually less effective due to having little action time.

04Ways to use it

Aggressive Attack

Seeks maximum acceleration and precision to connect the highest possible amount of impacts before losing speed. It is a super powerful style, but also quite risky to use consistently.

Semi-Aggressive Attack

On Bits with moderate movement, it can be launched with great power without losing too much control, increasing the chances of landing critical hits. Furthermore, it allows it to briefly dodge aggressive rivals during the first seconds of the battle and pursue more passive opponents with greater effectiveness.

Erratic Attack

On Bits like Kick, it can bounce all over the stadium taking advantage of practically any part of its shape. The key is to power up those bounces through an incredibly strong launch push right from the start.

05Base combo

Orochi Cluster 6-60LF

It is oriented toward a purely aggressive attack from below, mainly exposing the upper hooks. Although it can provide good battles, it wastes a large part of the lower slopes that make the Blade special. Furthermore, Low Flat provides it with very little action time, making it difficult to connect consistent impacts. Add to this that 6 is somewhat light, which doesn't help compensate for Orochi's recoil.

06Combos

1
Orochi Cluster 7-60J

Semi-Aggressive Attack combo that adds weight and stability through 7. Jolt provides enough stamina and maneuverability to launch it with power without losing too much control, allowing it to adapt its movement according to the rival.

2
Orochi Cluster 7-70K

Erratic Attack combo where the extra height allows it to expose its lower slopes even more to take advantage of its entire periphery and hit from all possible angles. Requires great launch power to force the bounces.

3
Orochi Cluster 9-60E

Semi-Aggressive Attack combo that moves smoothly even with super powerful launches. Maintains a mostly upright posture to smash rivals and provides enough action time to adapt to different situations. Its main risk continues to be the ease of bursting the Bit.

Why does it work this way? Blader's Path explains it step by step: Bey physics, how to build combos and how to test them. See the book
