00Ratchet 6 summary

Ratchet 6 comes in three heights: 6-60 (6.1 g), 6-70 (6.4 g), and 6-80 (6.8 g).

Ratchet 6 is not as versatile as others and its usefulness heavily depends on how much synergy it has with the Blade; mainly the 6-segment ones will get more use out of it. But other than that, it doesn't stand out that much in any area unlike 1, 5, 7, and 9 which have more noticeable beneficial effects.

01Description

Ratchet 6 is formed by six divisions: three thin ones and three wider ones that slightly protrude from the main body. Its diameter is a bit larger than average, although it is surprisingly light.

When the Ratchet is new, these wider parts can easily scrape the ground or the rails, but being hollow they deform with use and become less dangerous.

02General properties

Its protrusions are smoothed on the outside, but on the inside, the wider ones generate a highly marked wall, almost like a lower hook that when new can cause problems by crashing into the ground or in direct contact, but they will quickly deform and smooth out, leaving it with low recoil similar to 3.

Due to their wide shape, these protrusions can cover contact points on the lower part of the Blade; in the best-case scenario, this can help cover vulnerable points or gaps, and the hollow plastic helps cushion the impacts even more. But on the negative side, it can cover a strong point of the Blade, being more of a hindrance.

03Variants by height

  • > 6-60 (6.1 g): The lowest and lightest. Offers lateral smoothness and little recoil, although it can scrape the ground if it tilts way too much.
  • > 6-70 (6.4 g): Remains more exposed and acts as a second contact layer.
  • > 6-80 (6.8 g): The additional plastic partially covers the wide protrusions, reducing bottom recoil and smoothing out ground scrapes; can be interesting in Barrage Attack.

My two 6-80s tighten the Bit very little and burst easily, I wouldn't dare say it happens on all of them, but it's something worth checking on yours!)

Why does it work this way? Blader's Path explains it step by step: Bey physics, how to build combos and how to test them. See the book
