00LeonClaw summary
Claw Leon (LeonClaw by Takara Tomy) is a 31.6 g BX Blade, released in Japan on October 7, 2023.
LeonClaw is far from being the king of the savanna—it’s more like a small Simba that can survive with clever play. It may look cute because of its size, but it’s still a lion, and its claws can leave a mark on anyone who underestimates it.
01Mythology
It is inspired by the lion, one of the strongest predators in the animal kingdom. A roar can be heard from almost 5 miles away, and its retractable claws can reach up to 4 centimeters, perfect for gripping its prey.
02Description
It is divided into five subtly separated segments that resemble a lion’s mane, while the raised lines evoke its claws. From the side, each section has a pyramidal shape, creating very pronounced waves on the top. It is a light Blade, with medium stamina and a compact size.
03Performance
Its upper waves are so pronounced that they can easily destabilize the opponent when hitting from below. On top of that, its textured reliefs allow it to wear down the opponent’s energy through repeated impacts, especially against Beys with uneven bases.
While its stamina is not outstanding, its wear-down potential can seriously trouble stamina-focused Beys if you manage to keep a steady chain of hits.
Because of its light weight, it tends to get launched away easily, but on counter Bits it can use that reaction to counterattack or dodge.
Overall, it needs low Ratchets and parts that boost stability to make up for its low weight and stay in the fight long enough for its claws to do their work.
Its biggest weakness is its weight. Right now, it is hard to compensate for it, and you’ll need all your power to give it a chance. However, too much force can make it lose control and fly out of the stadium due to how fast it accelerates.
04Ways to use it
On counter Bits and low heights, launch with maximum power and wait for the opponent’s impact, destabilize them, and use the momentum for a fast counter. It can even circle around and dodge at the end, shining against super aggressive Beys.
With constant attacks at low heights and semi-aggressive Bits, aim to wear down the opponent through nonstop collisions. Ideal against stationary Beys.
05Base combo

The parts work well for its natural playstyle. They don’t fully fix its weaknesses, but they are decent as a stock combo, especially since both parts have strong individual performance, and LeonClaw was originally highly sought after because of them.
06Combos
Increases stability and weight, while boosting counterattack aggression to maximize damage.
Focused on wearing down stationary opponents with continuous hits. It requires solid accuracy to keep the pressure on.
