00KnightMail summary
Mail Knight (KnightMail by Takara Tomy) is a 36.5 g UX Blade, released in Japan on November 2, 2024.
KnightMail is an all-around knight that knows how to defend, attack, and endure. It may not be as easy to master and demands more practice than options like SharkScale, but once trained, it becomes a reliable and extremely dangerous Blade. Turning into a true guardian of the stadium, ready to protect your battle until the very end with the honor of a real knight.
01Mythology
Inspired by a knight and chainmail armor, one of the most common armors in the Middle Ages because it offered an ideal balance between protection and mobility. It was made of thousands of interlinked metal rings that absorbed and distributed the force of blows, reducing cuts while still allowing the knight to move with relative freedom in battle.
02Description
KnightMail’s shape is basically two crossed equilateral triangles, with smoothed tips that resemble pieces of armor. It is a wide, concave Blade, with very pronounced waves on the top side, where the metal rises and falls forming strong ridges that directly affect its performance. It has six clearly defined contact points: three on the lower side area and three more aggressive ones on the upper curve, inside which it houses metal balls that can move up and down, adding weight and creating vibrations during battle. It is a compact Blade, with above-average weight, mainly concentrated on the upper section.
03Performance
While its stamina is not outstanding, it holds it very well in battle thanks to its concave shape, which absorbs and disperses impacts efficiently. Because of this, its mix of solid weight, highly aggressive contact points, and impact absorption makes it a super versatile Blade, capable of adapting to many styles and matchups. On top of that, the internal metal balls generate constant vibrations when hit, causing chaotic rebounds and very effective destabilization of the opponent. This allows it to either lift from below with a strong rebound or crush from above with multiple micro-impacts thanks to the balls, making battles unpredictable and messy in a good way. If you want to maximize its attack, lowering its height as much as possible lets it hit cleanly with the upper section, where most of its offensive power is located. For defense, medium heights (60–70) work best, letting it tilt to try and launch the opponent or stay more sideways to absorb damage. If you want something in between, it can also be really fun bouncing off walls or moving chaotically with erratic Bits. The key is to keep constant contact with the opponent to wear them down, destabilize them, and increase the chances of landing a critical hit.
Of course, it also has weaknesses. Its high center of gravity makes it prone to wobbling, which can cause the Ratchet to scrape the floor. Also, in fully stationary battles it lacks the spin time and stamina to beat pure stamina Beys. Because of this, staying completely still is usually counterproductive. Instead, it benefits more from Bits that keep constant movement, or stationary ones that allow it to be pushed and rebound, giving it chances against all kinds of opponents.
04Ways to use it
In very low combos, it can lift and strike with huge power thanks to its upper section. Works best with precise aggressive Bits like Rush, or chaotic ones with decent stamina like Kick, prioritizing speed and continuous hits.
On stationary or semi-aggressive Bits that allow it to tilt, receive the hit, and send it back hard. Works better if the Bit allows small bursts of movement.
Whether using the rail with Bits like Point, or taking advantage of rebounds with Wedge, receiving momentum to come back faster increases the chaos and the effectiveness of its hits.
05Base combo

This combo is way too tall, leaving its best contact points out of play. On top of that, Ball Spike is very unstable, has poor stamina, and is prone to bursting. Combined with the lightness of 3-85, it heavily worsens wobbling and makes it easy to knock out. Basically, this combo amplifies its weaknesses and cancels out its strengths.
06Combos
Wedge helps with movement and rebounds for violent counterattacks, while also allowing shield-style defense through tilting. Ideal for max-power launches. KnightMail 6-60K An erratic combo that looks for constant rebounds and aggressive clashes. Very chaotic and dangerous, with some self-KO risk. KnightMail 4-50LR Ultra-low pure attack. Maximizes the use of the upper section and, when well controlled, is absolutely devastating. KnightMail 1-60P Erratic counterattack combo. Can go wild from the start or take advantage of the opponent’s momentum. Risky because of Ratchet 1, but surprisingly consistent with heavy, solid hits.
