00HellsChain summary
Chain Incendio (HellsChain by Takara Tomy) is a 33.2 g BX Blade, released in Japan on November 2, 2023.
HellsChain, like the Grim Reaper itself, doesn’t rush—but it never stops. Every collision is one less breath for the opponent, like a dementor slowly draining their energy. Despite its flaws, it’s absolutely worth giving it a chance; it can genuinely surprise you with how versatile it is.
01Mythology
It is based on the Grim Reaper and chains. In medieval tradition, the Reaper was depicted carrying a scythe and chains used to drag condemned souls. Chains have also been used since ancient times as symbols of control and punishment, strong enough to restrain even giants.
02Description
It is made up of ten divisions representing chain links: five large ones on the lower side and five smaller ones on top, with a slight downward angle. This creates a smooth, concave irregularity on the upper surface. Its outline is rounded and polished, making it stable with low recoil. It is a mid-weight Blade with good stamina and notable versatility.
03Performance
Its smooth, concave shape makes it ideal for defending against aggressive opponents, especially when tilted, reflecting hits without losing too much energy. Low recoil combined with solid stamina gives it excellent defensive flexibility.
While it does not have strong raw attack, its divisions create enough friction to wear down opponents in long battles, especially when attacking from below. More subtly, it can achieve a similar effect when hitting from above, draining energy with every contact. It even has the potential to lift opponents, since its concave shape makes it easier to get under their Blades and destabilize them.
Running it at mid heights like 60/70 lets you take full advantage of the Blade if your goal is consistent wear-down.
On top of that, its smoothed surface makes it difficult for left-spin Beys to equalize energy against it, turning it into a super safe pick in those matchups.
Overall, it performs best on semi-aggressive Bits or ones with moderate movement, letting you fine-tune its behavior and make the most of its balanced kit.
Its mid-low weight makes it easy to push around, and its natural acceleration can cause loss of control on certain Bits when it gains too much speed. Even though its stamina is good, it still falls short compared to stamina specialists, so adding a bit more momentum helps boost its wear-down game.
04Ways to use it
On subtle-movement Bits that allow tilt while keeping stamina, it will reflect hits effectively.
On constant-movement Bits with good stamina, it can dodge attacks while taking advantage of its low recoil.
On semi-aggressive Bits, look for repeated impacts to wear down and destabilize opponents.
05Base combo

A pretty solid combo: the Ratchet has perfect synergy with the Blade, and the Bit gives it the semi-aggressive movement it needs. Its main limitation is the height, which reduces its destabilizing and wear-down potential, though good tilt can help compensate. It’s not its best combo, but it clearly shows what it can do right out of the box.
06Combos
Strengthens its defensive traits with Hexa’s natural counterplay, taking advantage of its destabilizing ability.
Adds great stamina and adjustable mobility, perfect for evasion or going into Flurry Attack. Against left-spin, it can overcome energy equalization. Super versatile for unlocking Chain’s full potential.
Fully defensive and highly destabilizing. Launch it hard and with strong tilt to maximize the rebounds it creates.
