00Glide summary

Glide is a 2.6 g stamina Bit.

Glide is a versatile Bit with mega great potential if its launch is mastered. Although riskier than Ball due to its structure and angle sensitivity, it offers a unique defense-stamina style capable of adapting to different strategies. A super interesting alternative to Point or Taper.

01Description

A Bit with a round tip made of POM (Polyoxymethylene), inside a hook-shaped outline and with a 16-tooth gear.

02General properties

In theory, its structure fulfills three functions: the POM reduces friction, increasing its spin time; the hook prevents it from tilting and helps slow down the movement when receiving impacts. The wide gear allows it to take the rail to execute super powerful Xtreme Dash counterattacks!

However, in practice, the tip protrudes very little, and due to the stadium's curvature, the hook touches the ground even on horizontal launches. This causes aggressive movements and unintended bounces, losing a lot of energy. Its tube is thin, making it susceptible to bursting from the savage impacts generated by its own Xtreme Dashes. You must exercise super great caution with the launch angle, since if it drops parallel to the stadium it is more controlled, and if you launch it perpendicularly then the hook will go straight into action and it will be aggressive from the start.

Based on my tests:

  • > Tilted forward: Follows the stadium's curvature and stays stable in the center.
  • > Tilted backward: Generates a controlled semi-aggressive pattern that rarely takes the rail.

With these variants, it can adapt to different strategies:

  • > Defensive: Its hook offers excellent support when resisting impacts, making it incredibly difficult to be knocked out.
  • > Evasive: Allows it to orbit the rival and dodge attacks, with the extra support of the hook for the drops.
  • > Stationary: If launched straight to the center, it will have spin times close to Ball, and will occasionally deliver strong counterattacks thanks to the hook's support.
  • > Against stationary Beys: You can force a semi-aggressive start to destabilize the rival and then take advantage of its stamina.
  • > Equalization: It can be useful in opposite-spin battles that don't have Elevate to surpass them by equalization, thanks to the tip sliding and the hook keeping you slightly more upright at the end than a normal Ball.
Why does it work this way? Blader's Path explains it step by step: Bey physics, how to build combos and how to test them. See the book
