00Blitz summary

Blitz is a 30.3 g CX Metal Blade.

Bahamut Blitz is a Blade with enormous aggressive potential but equally demanding to master. It is not the most consistent, nor the most chaotic, but it finds an interesting and challenging middle ground, which in the right hands can be mega lethal.

Maybe that's why it is not considered a tribute to Salamander and Bahamut; those were passive and tedious, used by somewhat lame characters… While Blitz is exciting and aggressive, used by the powerful One, managing to turn those archetypes around to turn them into bad and edgy boys!

01Mythology

It is based on the Bahamut, which in Arabian mythology is a giant fish/whale that supports the world, but in popular fiction, it has been represented as a black and super imposing dragon.

02Description

Bahamut Blitz Break as a whole takes inspiration from two Burst Beys: from Hell Salamander it adapts its star shape that can vary between 5 and 10 points, with a huge profile head. And from Arc Bahamut it takes its name, the dragon design, and its color palette. Although it is not considered a direct tribute to them.

Blitz has a star shape with five thin rectangular segments, each with a small but super marked front hook. One of these is wider and works as its main point of impact.

However, that zone is the most hollow underneath, so the weight difference is little and it does not become as unstable as a DranBuster or Meteor Dragoon; in fact, its stamina is only slightly below average.

03Performance

Its function is simple: take advantage of its mega huge weight distributed to the ends to hit directly with its hooks, mainly the longest one, with pure and intense Smash Attacks. With the extra that it can slow down the rival thanks to its weight and the reliefs on its periphery that generate incredibly high friction.

It just has 2 drawbacks:

First, it carries a huge recoil, so against Beys of its caliber or that carry a lot of force, it can come out equally affected, and its medium-low stamina might fall short to win the battle if it fails to knock them out.

Second and most importantly, it is quite thin, so the consistency of hitting with the metal is super variable. If you over-tilt, if you end up too high or too low compared to the rival, you will hit with plastic, losing valuable time and momentum from its attacks.

Therefore, if you add more weight to the main wing with the rest of the parts, you will make it harder to control and its stamina will decrease. Also, it doesn't reach such a marked erratic movement to reliably bet on that playstyle, and considering that its 5 wings can hit almost equally hard due to the shape of their hook, it might be more convenient to improve its overall balance with the rest of the parts, seeking to increase its spin time and maneuverability to improve the precision of its movements and give it more chances to land its hits.

Also, combining all the parts, it is worth keeping it at medium heights (equivalent to a BX/UX with a 60/70 Ratchet), where it can adapt to the opponent's height more easily, mega reducing the chances of missing the metal impact.

On the other hand, when choosing or aligning the Over and Assist Blade, ensure they don't protrude too much to avoid adding more recoil, or that they remain aligned as best as possible with the metal without interfering with each other.

So, it is a Blade that has the shape and weight to be really intense, but requires quite a bit of precision and good balancing to release its maximum potential.

It should be noted that its hooks wear down super fast (in our case, in 200 battles all 5 lost it). It will still be strong due to the nature of its star shape, but it will be obvious how its original intensity decreases, especially losing those critical hits that could end the battle in a couple of impacts.

04Ways to use it

Classic Attack

With flat Bits to release direct Smash Attacks at great speed. The key is in controlling the tilt and power to land them with precision.

Erratic Attack

On Bits like Kick, look for unpredictable trajectories with intense bounces.

Tank

On round Bits with good traction and ground support. The idea is to achieve a pendulum effect so that it hides in the rail and then slides with mega force to the center.

05Blade Base

Bahamut Blitz Break Knuckle

In theory, it seeks to power up the widest part of the metal, but the plastics remain very exposed, generating way too much recoil without providing a remarkable power; besides, it becomes unstable, difficult to control, and has low stamina.

It should be noted that Break has three alignments. The worst is when it forms 10 points, because all of them remain exposed, granting the highest recoil, lowest stamina, and it doesn't power up any part of the metal; rather, they hinder it.

The base alignment, when Break's head and the longest part of Blitz align, is slightly more effective but still generates a considerable recoil by sitting slightly in front of the metal.

The best one is when Break's wings are on top but slightly behind the metal segments, which will cover them, decreasing their exposure and recoil, managing to hit directly with the metal, maintaining the increase in strength, and with a super better balance.

For its part, Knuckle is equally cumbersome in all alignments, getting in the way of the metal and adding a lot of recoil.

So it looks great, but just the Assist Blade brings it down too much.

06Base combo

Bahamut Blitz Break Knuckle 1-50 Ignition

It seeks to concentrate all the weight in a single point to maximize the impact. But it sits very low, which makes it difficult to hit with the metal. Additionally, the instability gives it even lower stamina and complicates controlling its movement.

Not forgetting that Ignition has super little action time, and can easily lose control. So it is an incredibly risky bet on a couple of initial impacts, which if they land, can be brutal, but if it fails, there is no going back.

07Combos

1
Bahamut Blitz Guard Heavy 9-60K

Erratic Attack. Launch with force to generate chaos and constant pressure.

2
Bahamut Blitz Guard Heavy 9-60LO

A tank combo that allows using the pendulum effect to hide and then slide toward the center to crash into the rival, giving it enough stamina to act.

3
Bahamut Blitz Guard Heavy 1-60J

Classic Attack with better control and stamina. Allows it to wear down the rival if it fails to knock them out.

4
Bahamut Blitz Break Heavy 9-60LR

Align Heavy's weight with Break's head to power up its strongest point and preserve part of its original playstyle. If you want more stability, you can align it slightly behind the main point to improve stamina and handling. If you have enough launch force, you can try it with the Emperor Chip to reduce recoil.

Why does it work this way? Blader's Path explains it step by step: Bey physics, how to build combos and how to test them. See the book
