00Fortress summary
Fortress is a 27.6 g CX Metal Blade.
Knight Fortress is a pleasant surprise; it is the ceremony of the little KnightShield that has finally achieved an outstanding performance that earned it the title of knight worthy of competitive royalty.
It has become a reliable, all-terrain knight, which can be a super great addition to a competitive deck seeking mega versatility in its options.
01Mythology
It is based on a medieval knight, protector of the nobles. Their training began as children, going from pages to squires, and finally, in a ceremony, they were granted the title of knights.
02Description
It is divided into three large identical segments. Each has a wide and sharp front that remains mega exposed.
In the middle of each, there is a slight separation forming a less exposed hook with an upward slope. Causing multiple irregularities to be generated on the top part, complemented by an edge in the center.
Despite being defensive, it sends all its weight to the ends, even more so thanks to the gaps it possesses. Leaving the greatest mass at the bottom, which compensates for the high center of gravity of the CX line and makes it one of the most stable in that line.
03Performance
It has a slight imbalance that affects its spin time and can make it somewhat erratic, but if you compensate for it with the correct alignment of the Assist Blade, it will stabilize, stop wobbling, release super great stamina, and be incredibly versatile.
On one hand, its hooks, its slope, and its upper irregularities allow it to release powerful impacts with mega consistency by not requiring a specific angle to deal damage. Achieving a great combination of lifting, wearing down, and direct hits.
Normally it would be a shape with a lot of recoil, but its high weight and distribution to the ends compensate for it, and it can release its powerful blows.
In turn, these irregularities can deflect the rival's impacts with great effectiveness without losing much energy, releasing remarkable defensive qualities, even more so with that good stamina and stability that you can unlock.
It is convenient to use it at medium heights if you look for aggressiveness to take advantage of its entire periphery. While at medium-low heights to strengthen its defense and stability. And in general, it benefits a lot from initial tilts, both to reflect impacts, improve its grip on the ground, and to take flight to attack the rival.
Its greatest weakness is purely stationary stamina Beys and left-spin Beys, since it will be super difficult to push them and it doesn't manage to surpass them by spin time. Although with Elevate it can be lucky against left-spins to win the final spin.
04Ways to use it
On flat Bits to hunt its rival, it becomes incredibly maneuverable since it is well balanced, and with its great versatility of contact points, it achieves great consistency in its impacts.
On chaotic Bits like Kick you can go through the rival; it doesn't tend to go wild, but it does generate unpredictable patterns in the center so they smash into it, or so it can reach to push them.
In medium-low combos with Bits of great traction with the ground, especially ball types, it can achieve a mega grip on the ground that makes it hard to move and magnifies the damage the rival takes when they crash into it.
On semi-aggressive Bits that allow it to move smoothly around the stadium, actively seeking to push or intercept the rival's hits.
On Point style Bits, it can let them smash into it and then propel itself from the rail to release a super strong hit.
On sharp Bits that let it tilt to deflect the rival's impacts with even more effectiveness; a metal Chip will make it even more intense. The problem is that it becomes less versatile, but its defense is incredibly impressive.
05Blade Base
Knight Fortress Guard
While in our tests, Flow and Break gave slightly superior results, Guard is still mega good with Fortress, since it aligns perfectly adding contact points on the top part to improve its capacity to counteract impacts from above.
The problem is Vertical; being very wide, it can cover part of the metal, which reduces its capacity to counteract. Additionally, it is light, so it doesn't fully compensate for the Blade's imbalance, and runs a high risk of scraping the floor. Thus it prevents it from showing its full potential and limits it more to defense without fully standing out.
06Base combo
It is a completely defensive combo, but scraping the floor is even worse. Both the Ratchet and the Assist Blade are wider than normal, and together with a low Bit, it is super easy for them to hinder you.
It can resist some attacks, but a bad scrape can cost it the entire battle.
07Combos
Aggressive Attack combo; its great maneuverability allows it to be precise in its movements. You can use the Bit you prefer and that suits you best.
Erratic Attack combo to smash with everything against the rival, launched well tilted to give greater variety to its impacts.
Mobile Tank combo that allows it to dodge, push, and equalize. Basically using almost all of its potential! Quite versatile and effective.
Stationary Tank combo; thanks to the round Bit, it has a subtle initial movement, but you can also force it to do a pendulum by hiding it at the start and then sliding to the center. Or just leave it centered from the start. So it not only defends well but retains some versatility.
Pure defense combo; you can tilt it to be a shield that deflects impacts and it will be incredibly difficult to move. Great against aggressive Beys but very limited against stationary ones.
Why does it work this way?
