00Merge summary

Merge is a 3.4 g balance Bit.

Merge is a brilliant idea poorly executed: it combines power, defense, and grip, but its extreme height and instability keep it out of competitive play. At standard height, it would have been an exceptional piece, comparable to Coat Sharp from the Metal era, but as it is now, it is not even a shadow of what it could have been.

Interestingly, just like Elevate, its original renders and even the anime show it at standard height, but for some reason, the final mold ended up this tall.

01Description

A wide-tube Bit made of a sharp plastic tip protruding from the center of a flat rubber base, circular in shape, with two rectangular rubber protrusions. It is 4 mm taller than standard Bits and has the largest gear in the system, with 18 teeth.

02General properties

Its intention is to stay stable in the center with the sharp tip and, when tilting, activate the rubber to generate quick acceleration. In practice, however, the rubber tends to slow rather than boost, acting like an anchor that sticks it to the stadium. The rectangular sections are especially effective at preventing knockouts, giving it really good defensive ability against fully lateral hits.

While it can occasionally get small boosts from rubber friction, these are neither frequent nor aggressive. Its main behavior is holding firm in the center with strong initial stability.

The problem comes from its excessive height, which makes it super unstable. If the opponent hits from below (which most will), the Bey lifts up and the rubber loses ground contact, nullifying its defensive potential. Add the large gear causing extra acceleration and loss of control, and it becomes even more prone to self-KOs.

On top of that, rubber and gear contact during an Xtreme Dash drains massive amounts of energy, making its defense and stamina incredibly inconsistent.

If you somehow survive despite all the risks, the rubber can still support extremely strong impacts, making it usable on heavy weight, Smash Attack Blades that can take advantage of its high, erratic behavior.
