00Rage summary
Rage is a 27 g CX Metal Blade.
Ragna Rage is a curious case; its base combo is visually exaggerated and not very functional, bringing to mind the Burst cakes, but most of its parts have great potential.
Above all, its Metal Blade stands out for an impressive push and a super intense playstyle, which is appreciated in the CX line. A power that would make all the Kiyamas proud, for finally having a Ragnaruk as remarkable as their hairstyles!
01Mythology
It is based on Ragnarok, which in Norse mythology is the event of the end of the world and the rebirth of a new one. During this battle, gods like Odin and Thor face colossal creatures like Fenrir and Jörmungandr.
02Description
Ragna is directly inspired by Rantaro Kiyama's Roktavor, evident by keeping its classic oval shape, double blade, and its characteristic orange color. Additionally, the Chip hides an "R" in allusion to the central letter of Rising and Blaze Ragnaruk.
Rage is an oval metal with a subtle but elongated slope, which incorporates two small rear hooks and a more marked frontal one. It sends all its weight to the ends, which maximizes centrifugal force and impact force.
03Performance
Its oval shape, combined with the weight distribution at the ends, allows it to deliver super strong impacts due to the great inertia it generates, both in frontal pushes due to its weight, and by lifting the rival using its upper slope. While maintaining mega good stamina thanks to its low recoil.
However, its thinness can decrease the consistency of its impacts by requiring greater precision to land its best hits, so in completely aggressive combos it can lose effectiveness by having few opportunities to land them.
When it manages to shine is by having Bits with greater action time, since its own inertia keeps it in constant movement, even with calmer Bits, allowing it to attack or counteract in the long run.
Just be careful, as it generates so much inertia that it can easily lose control. So launching it with an initial tilt is key to taking advantage of its slope as a ramp and mitigating the risk of it losing control, to later use its frontal push with super greater safety.
When selecting an Over Blade, make sure the plastic does not interfere with the metal's tilt, or you will notably reduce its potential. The ideal is to align it in a way that it doesn't hinder or remain incredibly exposed and, if possible, that it provides weight at the ends of the oval to power up its impacts.
04Ways to use it
On semi-aggressive Bits like Taper or Unite, prioritizing time in battle over pure speed to increase the probability of effective impacts.
On Bits like Kick, it can exploit its chaotic nature to hit from multiple angles.
On small Bits like Orb or Wedge, you can launch it super hard so that the rival takes mega damage when crashing into it, and by taking so much flight it will be able to bounce to finish them off.
On Point style Bits, waiting for the initial impact to then launch a surprise attack with the support of the rail.
05Blade Base
Ragna Rage Flow Erase
Flow protrudes way too much and generates high recoil, besides obstructing the metal's tilt in all its alignments, limiting the Upper Attack. Erase does provide good push and aligns appropriately, but it makes it too chaotic and prone to self-KOs, besides lifting the metal a lot, which can decrease the possibility of hitting with all its strength. The result is a combo with a lot of power but difficult to control, which will not let all the power of the metal shine.
06Base combo
The excess of layers and its high height hurts the aerodynamics, which considerably reduces its stamina. Meanwhile, the inertia of the Blade causes the Bit to easily lose control, and being so loose in this Ratchet makes it extremely prone to bursting. Additionally, the height makes it difficult for the metal to make effective contact. So it is a disaster in combat, mutually overshadowing each other among all the parts.
07Combos
Stable Counter Defense combo. Allows launching it with power to receive the impact and counterattack with bounces. LO prioritizes stamina, while Wedge powers up the bounces.
Erratic Attack focused on chaos and unpredictable hits. Ideal with an initial tilt to maximize knockouts.
More controlled attack, with better spin time and more predictable patterns.
Counterattack combo that takes advantage of the rail to surprise or punish direct impacts.
Tip: Align Heavy's metal with the ends of Rage to amplify its impact power.
